Bible Reading: Deut 23-25, Galatians 2
Reel thoughts:
While reading today's old testament reading, i realized that the bible, in particular the old testament Levitical laws, has a lot to say about how to live in peace with one another. It specifically also has much to say about our treatment of the poor, powerless, widowed, and those who need help. Imagine if we were as thoughtful about how to protect the unprotected today, imagine the social safety nets we could create. But the thing is, it's been tried and failed. We can't create social safety nets large or reliable enough because we're fallible people. Paul's letter to Galatians reminds us that God's our only safety net.
